Government Corruption

Socialism/Leftism violates (at least) 3 of the 10 Commandments:

  • Worship God, not government (“Thou shalt have no other gods before me”).
  • Don’t take others stuff (“Thou shalt not steal”).
  • Don’t covet your neighbor’s ass (I don’t believe this is a reference to Bill Clinton) (“Thou shalt not covet anything that is thy neighbors,” even if they are the so-called ‘One Percenters’).

You could make the case that Leftists, endemically and willingly, tread on at least three more commandments besides these, but the above will make my point.

Leftism, which includes Socialism and Communism when taken to its logical conclusion, always, inevitably fails economically and fiscally, but by far the greater tragedy of these failed political ideologies is that such collectivist/big government schemes are based upon theft.

This is why:

The Left in America today believes that a large, collectivist government somehow has the “wisdom” to know how to take (at gunpoint, by the way) the “stuff” of the nation’s producers and then “fairly” redistribute it to the “have-nots” (as defined by the Leftist “Elite,”), (those who also just happen to be the Socialists’ prime constituents or voting block).

Conflict of interest?

When a powerful entity rushes at you uninvited, forcefully removing your hard-earned wealth, and then gifts it to those the government deems “worthy,” that, my friend, is theft.

“Thou shalt not steal.”

When God-given, unalienable rights are removed by Big Government and then “bestowed” upon whom it chooses, when people are discouraged from looking to God for help and instead trade in God and their local church for the Nanny-State, that seems pretty obvious to be a violation of the First Great Commandment.

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

Finally, today the greatest scourge in America, besides rampant immorality—the “Sex and the City” pop-culture, supporting caustic, omnipresent pornography—is cultural relativism and identity politics, both closely related and both with the prime objective to agitate allied citizen-constituents to rise up and contend against anything deemed conservative, religious, or traditional. This includes stirring up the supposed “have-nots” to rebel against the so-called “haves.” When ‘community organizers’ agitate their followers to envy, or hate, those who might have more things than they do, they are breaking the tenth commandment.

“Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s stuff,” in so many words.

In fact, it’s getting ugly. Increasingly Big Government, those on the Left, believe that they are entitled to override our inalienable rights, rights not bestowed by government, or by man, but rights that come directly from God, including Life, Liberty, and Property, as defined in our Founding Documents by our Founding Fathers.

Until our leaders come to understand that theft is theft no matter how you justify it, a mammoth Nanny State we can’t afford (which we’ve willingly, suicidally, embraced in this country) will trample peoples’ rights to dust. Nanny State Government always destroys and squanders far more wealth and freedom than does a limited, Constitutionally-based, government.

In the end, those who work the hardest and sacrifice the most, are targeted for fleecing. The inherent evil of the Nanny State is that it preys upon the producers, while encouraging sloth and dishonesty among the citizenry at large. The Nanny State creates pathetic parasites out of formerly productive human beings. And as parasites people come to expect the freebies and have no qualms about, in effect, committing larceny against their family, against neighbors, and most of all against future generations.

What’s even more amazing is that the welfare class ALWAYS ends up hating those who are paying their bills, demanding ever increasing levels of “free stuff” in order to be “satisfied.”

Additionally, and history proves this point, the government that believes it is “right” to rob Peter to pay Paul can always count on the political support of Paul. Of course, we should all agree that such a policy of official thievery is simply wrong. It is evil.

In truth, welfare states rot from within morally. That’s because theft corrupts and official, institutional theft corrupts generationally—“line upon line.”

“The power to tax is the power to destroy (meaning to corrupt and shackle)” (Daniel Webster). I believe that is why so many of God’s 10 Commandments dealt with resisting the temptation to confiscate, officially or otherwise, peoples’ wealth, and with their wealth, their personal freedoms. These timeless Commandments, given by God, are the finest early warning gauges of a nation’s pending economic and moral collapse.

Socialism, therefore, should be resisted not because it’s a failed economic system (one that never works wherever it’s tried), but simply because it’s immoral. That alone should relegate forced collectivism to the ash-heap of history.

Worse still, Socialism creates a supporting political Party that justifies theft as part of its official platform.

To maintain its power the Party then creates a privileged class of political and economic parasites who then support their party bosses, “elite enablers,” with their votes. More so, such rulers, in order to maintain their power in larceny, must become increasingly despotic.

Why? Because in every case throughout history, when such a governmental model is implemented, sooner or later totalitarianism raises its ugly head to force these inherently bad political ideals on an unwilling population. In the tyranny of the Left, the moral collapse of the nation is not far behind.

Socialism, as advocated by the Left, is bad not only because it doesn’t work, but more so because it’s immoral.

Simply, socialism need not be argued, or opposed, any other way than this, which should be good enough for any society built upon Judeo-Christian principles of honesty, independence, hard work, and the desire to fully live the principles contained in the Ten Commandments.
